Terms of service
Draft — these terms are a working draft and may change before launch.
1. What Vikkun is
Vikkun is a venue: we connect buyers and sellers in the Maldives and provide tools (listings, auctions, chat, deals, trust scores) for them to trade directly with each other. Vikkun is not a party to any sale, holds no product funds, and does not own, inspect or warrant listed items.
2. Accounts
You need a verified Maldivian phone number to trade. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person, one account; accounts may not be sold or transferred.
3. Payments are peer-to-peer
Product payments flow directly between buyer and seller using the payment details shown on the deal page. Vikkun never holds, escrows or transmits product money. Coin purchases are the only payments processed by Vikkun, via our payment provider.
4. Coins, stakes and bonds
Coins are a prepaid utility credit with no cash value and no cash-out. Bid fees are consumed on use. Stakes and bonds are refundable when the corresponding deal or auction is honoured, and are forfeited on default, as shown in-app before you commit.
5. Honouring deals
A purchase, accepted offer or winning bid creates a deal with deadlines. Failing to pay, or failing to deliver after being paid, is a default: forfeited stakes/bonds, a reduced trust score, and — for repeat offenders — suspension from auctions or the platform.
6. Prohibited items and conduct
No illegal goods, counterfeits, weapons, stolen property or anything restricted under Maldivian law. No fraud, fake bidding, off-platform payment steering, harassment, or attempts to manipulate trust scores. We may remove listings and suspend accounts for violations.
7. Disputes
Deal disputes opened in-app are reviewed by our moderation team, whose resolution governs the platform consequences (stakes, bonds, trust). This does not replace your legal rights against the other party.
8. Liability
Vikkun provides the venue “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of buyers or sellers, the quality of items, or losses arising from trades between users.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-app.
